CLICnet Catalog Changes on May 1st

Beginning May 1st, the Encore interface for the library catalog will no longer be available. Any bookmarks made in Encore will stop working on that date and should be replaced with links from the CLICnet Classic version of the catalog, which will be the version of the library catalog that will be available going forward. Remember to check for bookmarks in syllabi, Blackboard courses, Web browsers, and social bookmarking Web-applications.

The decision to discontinue Encore was made at the consortia level, and it enables the CLIC libraries to offer a wider search and discovery experience through OCLC’s WorldCat Local product, which will be implemented over the summer. With a single search interface, WorldCat Local will allow you to search Concordia’s book holdings and article databases simultaneously, with several options to scope your search, including limiting by format and expanding by location.

Please direct any questions about these changes to reference@csp.edu.

New Adolescent Psychology and Philosophy Subject Guides

Two new Subject Guides have been recently published by CSP Librarians: Adolescent Psychology and Philosophy.

Subject Guides are the first place to go when starting your research, and provide a good home base to jump off from and return to during the process. They are authored by CSP Librarians and organize the copyrighted academic materials (that you won't find for free on the web) that are supplied for your use by Concordia as part of your tuition. These guides include shortlists of the best databases in each subject, links to online Reference e-Books, embedded search boxes to many of our resources, research tips and hints, and a whole lot more.

Browse all 50 guides here, and add a bookmark so you can return each time you have research to do. If you've never seen a Subject Guide, that's what they look like below, with a clean look and an easy-to-use navigation with tabs for different aspects of research:
